1. Who we are

Connect Me With runs this directory to help local businesses get found and connect with customers. “We”, “us” and “our” mean Connect Me With. Contact us about privacy at hello@connectmewith.co.uk.

2. What we collect

  • Account information: your email address, and your name if you give it.
  • Business listing details: business name, description, town, contact details and photos you choose to publish.
  • Enquiries: the name, email, phone number and message you send to a business.
  • Reviews: your rating, comment and the display name you choose.
  • Searches: the text you type into Smart search.

3. Why we use it

We rely on these lawful bases under UK GDPR Article 6:

  • Contract: to run your account, show your listing and deliver enquiries.
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the directory, prevent spam and fraud, and send essential service messages.
  • Consent: for any optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We don't sell personal data. Listing details you publish are public by design. Enquiries go only to the business you contact.

These providers process data for us under data processing agreements:

  • Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
  • Vercel: website hosting.
  • Anthropic: reads your Smart search text and listing details to suggest matches, and helps business owners draft replies.
  • Stripe: payments for business plans.
  • Resend: sending enquiry notification emails.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement to protect it.

5. How long we keep it

We keep account and listing data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw consent.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. We'll email registered users about significant changes.
